MEET THE AUTHOR

Cheryl WilfongCheryl Wilfong spent 9 months driving the Nez Perce Trail, camping, and meeting dozens of people. Along the way, she stopped at state historical societies and libraries, large and small, in her research for eye-witness accounts. 35,000 miles and two Vision Quests later, she wrote the 800-page manuscript that became THE guidebook to the Nez Perce National Historic Trail.

She was a member the Board of the Nez Perce Trail Foundation from 1990 to 1997.

In 2004, she spent another two months following the Nez Perce Trail and preparing the manuscript for the second edition.

Cheryl lives and gardens in Vermont where she writes an award-winning blog. She is also the author of The Meditative Gardener: Cultivating Mindfulness of Body, Feelings, and Mind, winner of 7 book awards.
